REGULAR EVENTS: Show Time

We have a lot of dancers in NotTooHot and a lot of people who have become interested in dance performance. We have quite a few dance shows at the Club, which are a lot of fun and often involve elaborate sets, huge preparation and many performers. These will continue.

Now that we have had two special events (Mardi Gras/Carnaval and the Ides of March) which included one-song dances every 15 minutes, this has given me an idea of a means for experienced performers to have some fun and beginning performers to get started. We will start a weekly event for one-song dance performances. I want to call it SHOW TIME. Here is how it will work ...

SHOW TIME

WHEN
11 am Fridays
7 pm Sundays

WHERE
NotTooHot Undersized Stage

PERFORMERS
One to as many performers as you want, but the lead performer must be a NotTooHot member

SCHEDULE
Each performance will occur in 15 minute increments. At the beginning of the performance the stage is empty and at the end the stage is empty. You can perform dance for one song (or more) during the 15 minutes, set up whatever sets you want, if any, and control the stream. You can use part or all of the 15 minutes. This means that you can schedule with me a performance for 11:00, 11:15, 11:30 and 11:45 am on Fridays or 7:00, 7:15, 7:30 or 7:45 pm on Sundays. You can schedule in advance to be sure you have a confirmed time for your desired time slot. If a time slot is not taken, the slot is available for impromptu performances during SHOW TIME.

LOGISTICS
You can use a set or none at all. The performances must be on the stage and not elsewhere in the Club. You can rezz up to 300 prims. If you want to store prims below the club you can. You can invite friends because SHOW TIME will initially be Open to the Public (OP). You need to arrange the stream. Any member can control the stream so either you stream or you get another member to stream for you.

CONCEPT
The idea is to have fun and offer a way for experienced dancers to show what they want, new dancers to have a way to start performing, and all of us to have fun.

THIS WEEK AT NOTTOOHOT 140324

I did not take any photos over the week-end did not get any sent to me. We had fun, but this week-end will have to be remembered with mind images only.

I have been thinking about the schedule we have for NotTooHot and the strategy Riddle and I have for filling out the European evenings first with events followed by the USA/Canada evenings for events. We have been following this strategy with mixed results in terms of member participation. Some events have good attendance. These are mainly special events, dance shows, some live entertainment and a couple of DJs. Some events have almost no attendance and tend to be many Djs, RIddleball and exhibits. I hate it when someone runs an event like a DJ or artist and no one shows up. I don't know whether it's the still small size of the club in terms of really active members, the attractiveness of the events or not being able to get people's attention. Of course lack of knowledge has never stopped me from trying something new. I am going to try something a little bit different by packaging events. By this I mean I am going to try to place events that experience has shown gets good attendance with events that need more attendance. It will take me several weeks to adjust the schedule to accomplish this. Of course if you want to perform in any way at NotTooHot, let me know, or if you have ideas how to make events more attractive to members, let me know.

Here is the schedule for this week ...

We had some fun yesterday with the EQUINOX. I saw a few people soaring or bowing to the sunrise. Six people left items for the enjoyment of members from a sign saying "God Hates Shrimp" (since I am no shrimp this was good for me to know) to get a free puppy. Here is a photo of me from one that turns your avatar into an outline of the sky.

I will leave the EQUINOX in place until late tonight (Friday) so you can stop by and take a look. Many thanks to iJess, BabyPea, Liz, Riddle, Summer and Tink for their contributions.

Come toast one with Riddlebox O'Ribble and Nottoo McWise at NotTooHot to celebrate St Patrick's Day, March 17.

HOW TO: Gladiator Fight

The NotTooHot Ides of March Celebration is March 15. Riddle will have a training session Sunday and Wednesday for interested Gladiators.

GLADIATOR FIGHTING

There are two Gladiator Events. The first is a single elimination tournament. Gladiators fight one against one in the best of three fights. Each winner advances to the next round and eventually the finals. The second Event is the Gladiator Melee. All Gladiators fight at the same time with the last living Gladiator the winner.

GLADIATOR HEALTH AND DEATH

All Gladiators must wear the SPD-J Health 1.61 that is given to you. When you first wear the Health Meter, it displays your name and 100%, which is your initial health. While you fight, you may be injured. Injuries cause your health meter percentage to drop. When it is 0% you are D E A D ... dead. When you are dead, you automatically fall on the floor.

GLADIATOR WEAPONS

You have two types of weapons: Spears for throwing  and swords for close combat. You may also wear a shield and helmet but they offer no additional protection.

To use the spear go to mouselook, aim at your opponent, and press the left mouse button. This throws the spear at your opponent. You can only throw a spear once every 15 seconds.

To activate the sword, wear the Sword Sheath and wear the Sword. The Sword Sheath goes on your hip. Click on the sheathed sword until it draws. You may use your own sword as long as it does not have poofers or displaced animations in it. .

To use the sword go into mouselook and PRESS and HOLD the left mouse button. Now tap your keyboard arrow keys (left, right, forward or backward). This creates 4 different slashing and thrusting moves with the sword. Be close to your opponent to hit.

You can use both the spear and sword at the same time. In mouselook a click on the left mouse button launches the spear while holding it down and using the arrow keys activates the unsheathed sword.

You can move by using the arrow keys without pressing the left mouse button.

DAMAGE

Damage is what a successful hit does to your opponent's Health Meter. The spear does 50% damage, a sword hit does 5, 10 or 15% damage depending on which arrow key you use to slash

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TOURNAMENT (March 15 at 1 pm)

1. Sign up for the tournament by clicking on the scoreboard. This places you in one-on-one fights against your first opponent.

2. Wear the SPD-J Health 1.61 that is given to you and your spear and sword.

3. Gladiators sit in the audience area on purple cushions until called by the Battle Coordinator (Riddle), for example, "next up are Nottoo on the red side and Riddle on the blue side" Go to the marked position and step off the side so you are on the fighting level behind the gate with your weapons ready and in mouselook.

4 The gates will open on the command of the Battle Coordinator.

5 You now fight your opponent until one is killed (0% on the Health Meter). If both Gladiators are killed at the same time, it is a TIE and will be re-fought. After the first round a second and possibly a third round will be fought until one Gladiator wins two times. The winning Gladiator advances and the losing Gladiator is eliminated.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GLADIATOR MELEE (March 15 at 3 pm)

All Gladiators assemble in the fighting area anywhere you wish as long as you are standing on the floor. At the Battle Commanders Starting Call, the Battle begins. The last living Gladiator is the winner. If the last two Gladiators die at the same time, too bad, more lion food.

SPECIAL EVENT: IDES OF MARCH ROMAN CELEBRATION

WIKIPEDIA

The Ides of March (Latin: Idus Martii or Idus Martiae) is a day on the Roman calendar that corresponds to 15 March. It was marked by several religious observances, and became notorious as the date of the assassination of Julius Caesar in 44 BC. The death of Caesar made the Ides of March a turning point in Roman history, as one of the events that marked the transition from the historical period known as the Roman Republic to the Roman Empire.

NOTTOOHOT

The Ides of March (March 15) is a day on the NotTooHot calendar that gives a great excuse for a day-long theme party. It is marked by activities such as Diva singing, slave dancing, gladiator fighting, lions, Centurion Guards, bathing Roman style, a toga fashion show and an orgy oops toga party. It also includes stars such as Julius Caesar, Brutus of et tu, Brute? fame, Gods and Goddesses such as Diana and, of course, Cupid. It's a turning point for NotTooHot since it will be Members Only.

Soon, we will publish the details of how this works and Riddle will have several sessions to train Gladiators prior to March 15. Anyone can fight (male or female) and we will have one-one-one battles in a tournament arrangement for all who want to participate. The winner gets to live.

3:30 pm
CENTURION GUARD Dance - I am recruiting Centurion Guards. So far, Marv has volunteered. I will buy you your own sexy Centurion Guard outfit and in turn you provide a little guard duty and dance in the Centurion Guard Dance choreographed by Diddy Hyun. I need three more volunteers.

5pm
Toga Fashion Show - Your outfit doesn't have to be a toga, but it has to relate to Rome, like gladiator armor, Legion uniform, toga, slave garb ... use your imagination. I will ask Big D or Scorpio to DJ for this and describe each outfit as he/she walks the Colosseum floor.

6pm

REGULAR EVENTS: BLUES TUNES SCAVENGER HUNT

Yesterday, I posted about 'Candy Kane's Dating Game' on Thursdays at 8pm. Today, Cheryl Nitely, who already DJs on Thursdays at 6 pm talked to me about starting an old game she led called 'Scavenger Hunt.' Since I had played it before and liked it, I agreed. She will do the game during her normal DJ times on Thursdays.

Here is how it works:

Blues Scavenger Hunt rules

Object - to get as many points as you can by producing items from your inventory.

You get points by:

During each song, the DJ will annouce an object.  You get one point for every object you can rez.   You get an additional point for being the first person to rez that object.  The DJ is the ref and she is always right.

Rules:
1.  You can't make the object.  That's primtionary.  lol
2.  Pictures of items don't count.
3. Buying it on SLex is OK, but why would you want to make your inventory any bigger for one point?

What you win:

The honor of being Not Too Hot's biggest pack rat of the week.

Since both Candy's game and Cher's game are on Thursday, I am going to start calling Thursdays GAME DAY.

All we need now is Primtionary and Where's Nottoo?
