SPECIAL EVENT: KING'S DAY 2014

Many of you know that in RL Riddle lives in the Netherlands (Holland). What you may not know is that there is a King and Queen of Holland. Sunday, April 27 is the official King's Day in Holland when the entire country shows its love and respect for the King and the Queen.

I thought it might be fun to celebrate Holland's King's Day for Riddle at NotTooHot. Riddle and I have joked about this for a while, since the Queen of Holland is from Argentina ... woo hooo. Hey! That's where I am from.

Riddle answered me with his wishes for King's Day with "I would like a flea market." Hahahaha, well, if King Riddle of NotTooHot commands it, it will happen. I put on my 'let's have fun' hat and came up with some additional activities for the day. Here is the official schedule for KING'S DAY 2014.

OFFICIAL KING'S DAY 2014 SCHEDULE

6 am (The Dutch get up early) - Dutch Tango for the Argentine Queen of Holland with Joaquin Gustav of Argentina. I get to play Queen and will wear Queenly clothes. You all can dance tango with royalty or just sit and drink Heineken.

7 am - FLEA MARKET
As soon as you read this blog post you can claim one of the 36 flea market spots (28 spaces and 8 carts) set up on the sim in front of the theater. These are available on a first-come first-served basis (one per member). To claim a spot just put at least one prim on an available space (see below). You can rezz up to 30 prims to sell whatever you want to anyone who shops starting now during the entire week through Sunday, April 27. Please, keep your prims within your space or on your cart. From 7 to 8 am Sunday we will invite all Club members to come and shop. All left over items will be auto-returned Monday.

The sandy-white areas are flea market spaces and the carts with a roof are the carts. It will probably rain, so be prepared.

8 am HOLLAND DANCES & PRANCES - If you want to do something to entertain the Club members, this is your chance. It can be dancing, singing, musical instrument playing, joke telling ... whatever you want, BUT it must relate in some way to Holland, e.g. canals, wooden shoes, Delft pottery, Bob Smit en het Duke City Sextet, Anne Franck, drugs, you name it. The maximum time you get is 10 minutes of the hour. We may ask Riddle to sing in Dutch if there are no volunteers.

9 am King's Day Auction - You can see the auction stand in front of the theater with chairs lined up for bidders. I (Nottoo) will be the auctioneer. Any item you want to auction can be placed on stand 01 or stand 02. We will auction from those stands alternating between them (i.e. when the item on Stand 01 is being auctioned, you may set up an item on Stand 02). You can set a minimum bid if you want. All payments go directly from the winning bidder to the seller. You can auction anything, but you can only rezz items of 100 or fewer prims. If you have something that is larger than 100 prims or not an object, you can provide a description or picture.

10 am Dutch Singing - I hope to arrange a Dutch singer or musician for this hour.

SPECIAL EVENT: Easter Celebration Update

In case you missed it, we are having an Easter Celebration on Saturday, April 19. Details are here and this note is to give you an update.

EASTER EGG HUNT

So far we have 21 eggs. I've gotten eggs from nine people and made twelve myself. Here I am with all but three of the eggs made so far ...

There is still time to make an egg and send it to me. We will have at least 25 eggs in the Easter Egg Hunt.

EASTER PARADE

I made my Easter outfit including the hat. Let me show you what I did. First, I found a freebie hat made originally by Eric Linden. Its a cowboy hat of sorts. It's the left hat in the photo below. Then, I took a mod, purchased hat from Coco in red. It's the middle hat in the photo. I decided I wanted to make a purple outfit since that is Riddle's favorite color. So, I took the Linden hat and retextured it with a photo of purple flowers I found on Google images. Then, I colored the Coco hat purple and unlinked it. I moved many of the petals form the Coco hat to the flowery Linden hat and linked it all. There it is on the right in the photo.

My Easter hat kind of looks like a purple blob from outer space, but, hey this is SL. Next, I went through my entire inventory of purple dresses. Finally, I found one that sort of matches the color of my Easter hat. It's kind of a short dress, but I'm sure Riddle will approve of it. Here I am ready for the Easter parade.

So, you can make your own Easter bonnet (hat) and outfit or buy one, BUT, be sure to be in the parade.

I am adding to the list of events that I will make photos of the Easter outfits for display in the front of the club and, of course, for the blog.

SPECIAL EVENT: Easter Celebration

This coming Sunday is Easter and at NotTooHot we are celebrating a day early ... Saturday, April 19. Here is the schedule ...

12 Noon - EASTER EGG HUNT

EGG PREPARATION

I have made an egg (Egg 0) and placed it on the bar at the Club. If it looks like an undecorated egg, it is. Before we can have an Easter Egg Hunt, we need to color the eggs. You can be an EGG MAKER. You can take an egg and color it any way you want. Once you have colored your egg, put inside it anything you want as a surprise for Club members who find it. I've placed a Give All Contents script in the uncolored eggs. Once you have created your egg, send it to me FULL PERM. I will give it a sequential number starting with 1.

EGG HIDING

Riddle and I will hide the eggs on the sim between 0 and 100 M. We will do this between 10 am and Noon on Saturday. No cheating and looking for eggs before the Hunt begins.

EGG HUNT

We will assemble in the Club at 12 Noon on Saturday and shortly after that the Easter Egg Hunt begins. When you find an egg, click on it for the surprise that the Egg Maker put inside. Be sure to take a copy of the egg too. 

EGGZACKLY

At 12:30 we will assemble again in the Club and whoever has found the most eggs, gets her/his picture taken as "HEAD EGG" and a blog post for all to read about. You can keep the eggs and surprises.

We also will line up all the eggs and vote on the best egg. The EGG MAKER of the winning egg will get his/her picture taken as "ËGG HEAD" and a blog post for all to read about.

12:45 pm - EASTER PARADE

You cannot have Easter without a parade of HATS. Find, make, buy  or steal the hat you want to wear in the Parade. We will have a fashion show where you alone or you as a couple can show off your outfit and especially your Easter Hat. The Parade will be narrated. Be creative, sexy, silly or whatever you want.

1:30 pm EASTER DANCE

We will adjourn to the Club and there we will have a dance featuring music of the 20s, 30s and 40s.

SPECIAL EVENT: EQUINOX

Today at 9:47 am SL time the RL earth is in the Equinox ... 

In RL you can balance an egg upright, but what fun is that.

In SL you can go to the EQUINOX at NotTooHot and have some fun. A special build is there with a pyramid and a dance ball with anims that allow you to express your EQUINOX feelings. Set sunrise or midnight or whatever time feels right to you.

Walk inside the phantom pyramid and you can leave anything you want (up to 50 prims) for others to enjoy for today's EQUINOX. Anything you leave will be returned tomorrow.

SPECIAL EVENT: ST PATRICK'S DAY

Everyone can show off their costume in the Toga Fashion Show. When you are ready to show off, walk to the blue column in the audience area. When your turn comes hop off the walk to the Arena floor and sit on the orange mover, which is a small orange circle with a black arrow. I can help you if you need it. Once on the mover you will be controlled by the mover as you walk the Arena floor and look sexy. Once you reach the Red side of the Arena, your one minute of Roman fame ends and you need to hop off the mover.

SPECIAL EVENT: IDES OF MARCH ROMAN CELEBRATION

The Ides of March (Latin: Idus Martii or Idus Martiae) is a day on the Roman calendar that corresponds to 15 March. It was marked by several religious observances, and became notorious as the date of the assassination of Julius Caesar in 44 BC. The death of Caesar made the Ides of March a turning point in Roman history, as one of the events that marked the transition from the historical period known as the Roman Republic to the Roman Empire.

NOTTOOHOT

The Ides of March (March 15) is a day on the NotTooHot calendar that gives a great excuse for a day-long theme party. It is marked by activities such as Diva singing, slave dancing, gladiator fighting, lions, Centurion Guards, bathing Roman style, a toga fashion show and an orgy oops toga party. It also includes stars such as Julius Caesar, Brutus of et tu, Brute? fame, Gods and Goddesses such as Diana and, of course, Cupid. It's a turning point for NotTooHot since it will be Members Only.

12 Noon 
ROMAN DIVAS I - We have a lot of good female singers and one or two can sing for us to open the celebration.

1 pm 
Gladiator Tournament - Riddle has been sword fighting a lot on pirate sims and knows about how to do this. It uses a health meter and swords. Soon, we will publish the details of how this works and Riddle will have several sessions to train Gladiators prior to March 15. Anyone can fight (male or female) and we will have one-one-one battles in a tournament arrangement for all who want to participate. The winner gets to live.

2 pm 
Slave Dances I - You choose the song. You choose the outfit, You dance in the center of the NotTooHot Colosseum ... no stages needed. Male or female, individual or group. One song per individual or group at 15-minute intervals.

CENTURION GUARD Dance - I am recruiting Centurion Guards. So far, Marv has volunteered. I will buy you your own sexy Centurion Guard outfit and in turn you provide a little guard duty and dance in the Centurion Guard Dance choreographed by Diddy Hyun. I need three more volunteers. 

3:45 pm 
Gladiator versus the Lion - Since we have our own Lion in the Club (Moto Gaffer), he has volunteered to fight a Gladiator (Babypea von Phoenix) in a dance choreographed by Baby. Who will win? 

4 pm 
Roman Baths - The Colosseum floor is lowered to reveal the Roman Baths. We have an hour of relaxation, a little dip, some water dancing, eat some grapes, drink some wine and generally have a Roman holiday. I need a DJ for this ... volunteers?

5pm 
Toga Fashion Show - Your outfit doesn't have to be a toga, but it has to relate to Rome, like gladiator armor, Legion uniform, toga, slave garb ... use your imagination. I will ask Big D or Scorpio to DJ for this and describe each outfit as he/she walks the Colosseum floor.

6pm 
Slave Dances II - You choose the song. You choose the outfit, You dance in the center of the NotTooHot Colosseum ... no stages needed. Male or female, individual or group. One song per individual or group at 15-minute intervals.

Special Event: Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day

This Friday we celebrate Valentine's Day in PINK in the Valentine's Day Party Room (in the cellar) that I made for this special day (Riddle makes no claim on this one) and it's hot for fun.

All Friday events will be in the Valentine's Day room. 

Think about wearing pink and come have some fun. I am sending you a special Valentine's Day present called "NotTooHot Valentine's 2014 - wear me then touch." Put it on, then touch it for a menu. Here I am looking cute in PINK with my present on.

Since this is a holiday of LOVE, I have set up the photo studio. Normally the studio takes individual pictures only and I will be glad to take a good one of you in the outfit of your choice. I have modified the studio so we can also take couple's photos in a number of romantic and loving poses. So put on your Valentine's Day clothes and give me a shout. I will be happy to take your picture when we are both online through Friday. On Friday I have added two picture taking times to the schedule. Each picture takes about 5 minutes for set up, so try to get yours early if you can.

Before and after Valentine's Day the pictures will be on display along the ocean-side, outside wall of the Club for a week or two. Some are already there.

SPECIAL EVENT: NotTooHot T-Shirt Fashion Show

Yesterday I sent out the pack of NotTooHot T-shirts that Riddle had hidden in his inventory closet. Here I am in my favorite one, Hot and Sexy.

These are classic 2008 model shirts. No mesh. No wrinkles. No shading at all. They are just the standard SL shirts with the Not Too Hot website on the back and some saying on the front.

Today, while DJ Panther spun tunes for us, she came up with the idea of putting the T-shirts with some of her clothing that she makes. She asked if she could offer them on SL Marketplace.

Of course, how could I resist that. So we talked more. I am already working with Liz Selene on a fashion show of her clothing creations along with mine, so I said, "Let's have a fashion show!"

So, mark your calendar for next Tuesday (February 11) at 7 am for a NotTooHot T-shirt fashion show while Panther DJs at the Club. We haven't started planning it yet, but that has never stopped me from doing something that might be fun. If you want to be a part of it, let me or Panther (Amarosi) know.

Of course, all this started with Big D (Derrick Stewart) wanting a T-shirt, so I hope he comes and models the 'Hot and Sexy' version.

SPECIAL EVENT: Live Music Lost

Monday, December 30 at 12 noon Riddle will DJ a special event we call 'Live Music Lost.'

Over the years we have hosted a lot of live music. As we resurrect the NotTooHot Club we plan to include live music as a part of our events with an emphasis on club members (e.g. MadMax Huet, Mar Biddle, Joaquin Gustav, Idella Quandry, DanLange Diavolo, Blue4U Nowicka and more). 

Unfortunately, some of the live musicians from the past are gone ... some just went to RL with no forwarding address and some went from SL and RL in a box. Either way they remain in our hearts.

Riddle and I were talking about how the end of the year makes us think about the past. We started talking about these departed musicians and Riddle said he might have recordings of some of them performing.  I said maybe I have some pics. So we searched our inventories and found enough stuff for an hour of remembrances.

Monday, Riddle will play a collage of them including

Riddle also found the recording of the Not Too Hot Blues Ears Radio Special from 2008.

SPECIAL EVENT: Spearheads Christmas Show

Summer Nachtigal and Zeg Spear are The Spearheads, an SL Dance Group with a lot of energy and a lot of fun. Both Summer and Zeg are Club members.

Tuesday, December 10 at 1pm The Spearheads present their Christmas Show at the Far Bar which is on the NotTooHot sim. I went to the location and snapped this photo ...

This show will be a lot of fun.
